Job Title – Mechanical Design Engineer
Location – Telford
Salary – £28500 – £45000 dependant on experience
Or client are the market leaders of storage equipment in the UK, who design, manufacture, sell and install pallet racking and shelving systems, as well as being the main UK supplier of personal lockers. With a wide blue chip customer base including most key players in several industries they pride themselves on their heritage and ambitious growth plans.
With the business growth they are searching for an experienced design engineer from a similar industry with a strong emphasis on mechanical design to join the busy Design Engineering department. You will be involved in all aspects of the design process and work with the in house tools to create a bespoke storage solution for their customers. Working closely with the sales department to understand the customer’s brief and their ultimate aims for their new structure. Full training will be provided and further opportunities are available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate technical solutions to meet customer requirements
- Produce high quality drawings and layouts using CAD packages
- Produce accurate bill of materials for system entry
- Increasing sales through prompt design costings
- Provide technical assistance to all internal and external stakeholders
Required experience/skills/qualifications:
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders
- Self-motivated
- Drawing software (AutoCAD packages).
- Competent IT user including Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
- Minimum GCSE A-C (pre 2018) or 9-4 (from 2018) in English, Science and Maths.
- HNC or equivalent in mechanical engineering.
